May is synonymous with spring, with growth, vitality, and pink. Already, this month feels like a refreshing drink of water; like lightheartedness and fun; like balloons and new beginnings.
Some of you are already panicking: it's the fifth month of the year, where has all the time flown? You feel like you're standing still I'm a fast moving crowd, and frustration is trying to cloud your judgement and dampen your spirit. Yes, it is tough when it seems like all the plans you had for 2019 are slowly coming to nothing, and encouragement looks so far away. That is not so: your Father is speaking. Are you listening?
The Israelites had lost all hope of freedom. They had started to forget the God who had taken them out of Egypt, who had parted the Red Sea for them to walk on dry land. Through Isaiah, He told them to stop holding on to old things, to stop fretting, to stop worrying. And He is saying the same thing to you. Look, He is doing a new thing! Can't you see it? He has made a way through that wilderness you are in; He has created rivers in dry lands! He has given you Jesus! How much of your plans did you commit to Him? How strong is your faith that He will do ALL that you have asked? How much faith do you have in yourself? Behold, He is doing a new thing, He has done it, if only you would just see. Don't give up on yourself: He never gave up on you! No matter how long it takes, keep going, keep hustling, keep believing: 2019 isn't over yet!
