You're Not an Afterthought: You're in God's Original Plan

After the many hard knocks, bad decisions made, and difficult lessons learned, we start to wonder what our purpose on this earth is. We wonder if we were born by mistake, or born in the wrong century, or if we were even meant to be on this earth as human beings at all.

We see our friends and family and strangers on social media succeeding and having a very good time being alive. Sometimes we cheer them on (you go girl!), and sometimes we drag them down (are you sure the way you earn that money is legit?)

We start to ask ourselves questions (wait o, is God my uncle that me am like this?). The devil, being that smart being that he is (we have to give it to him: he is evil smart) capitalizes on our fears and doubts and worries, giving them life, making us more frustrated and angry and sad, until we get diagnosed with clinical depression, commit suicide, or take some other hurtful, drastic measure that affects everyone around us.

Sister, God is not your uncle: He is your Father.

You're not an afterthought: He meant for you to be born for a special purpose.

The things we go through in life shake us, mold us, break us, rebuild us, but through it all, His Word is there to keep us on the straight-and-narrow, to remind us of who we are, and what we have been created to do.

You may wonder what exactly God set you apart for. What is that thing you're good at? What is that talent that you have, you have always had, that you think is not profitable in any way? He created you to use that seemingly insignificant talent and change the world. He set you apart so that you can enjoy all the goodness and prosperity that He has laid on this earth for you to enjoy. He has consecrated you with His blood to be a blessing to your spouse, your kids, your family, your friends, and to nations!

God doesn't make mistakes. If your mother ever told you that you were a mistake, read Jeremiah 1:5 again. He formed you in your mother's womb. He knew you even before then, and He set you apart for special work. You were never an afterthought: you were, and have always been, a part of His original plan.

Know it. Own it. And shine.
